I love the no rules aspect when it comes to creating art. Texture is always something that speaks to me. Currently most of my works are impressionistic mixed media.

Life is a wild ride. I began riding a motorcycle at age four before I knew how to ride a bike. It's been full throttle ever since. My passion is creating art that enlightens lacing it with love and humor.  I was born in San Diego, California in 1976. I grew up in Oceanside, a small north county beach town. We were a diverse group of kids a melting pot of sorts, much like Hawaii where I live today. Inspiration was easy to find, five minutes from the beach an hour to the desert and a couple to the mountains. It's these same landscapes, city moments, fashionable people and the ocean that continue to  influence my art today. In 1994 I left to go to college in Northern California. The sleepy town of inspiring minds, Chico. During these formidable years I started painting more than any other medium. Painting for me has always been a great release, a liberating form of expression. I started to see my own painting style emerge as I continued to explore different styles and materials. In the winter of 1998 I moved to the Big Island of Hawaii. Island life quickly embraced me and my paintings began to flourish. My body of work was strong with color and movement,  lots of primaries with an expressionistic style. This is when I first started showing and selling my artwork in a gallery setting. While living in Kona I fell in love, I met my knight in shining armor. Matt and I moved to Maui, Hawaii in 2001 and we were soon to be married in 2002. Together we have three sons who are life's greatest reward. They give me an endless source of gratitude and inspiration. I still continue to explore new media and styles. Currently my painting style is impressionistic, thick and rich with color, almost a sculptural feel with three dimensional relief that lifts off the canvas.  I love the no rules aspect of creative expression. I use all types of tools to create including my hands, brushes, mostly palette knife. When I'm not painting or fulfilling life's freshest orders, I could be found paddleboarding, playing in my garden, fusing glass, making jewelry or writing poetry. I'm most inspired by love. Love is what connects us all. We are all capable of having, giving and sharing love. Love is the most valuable commodity on the planet, let's embrace it. I enjoy painting places of celebration or landscapes that remind you of your own incredible journey. I take reward from making art that evokes memorable moments, art that encourages you to celebrate personal strengths and visualize your dreams. I ask the viewer to slow their mind, be present and allow the artwork to take you on your own epic adventure.

Warmest Aloha-Beck

I hope that my artworks encourage the viewer to pursue personal passions and remind us to celebrate the love we share for one another.
